Welcome First Day of Spring...

It's been a long winter...

And today is the tip-off for the NCAA basketball tourney. I have Louisville winning it all. I also have Cornell winning. That's how serious I take it. Should be fun though. Natually, I'm hoping for upsets and teams such as Duke, Connecticut, North Carolina and UCLA will all go home early. What fun is it to root for them?

So the very first games are completed and all have gone according to form. So already I'm one 1-3...My brackets are already redder than Silda Spitzer...

A word from Mrs. Gooch...

Editor's Note: Mrs. Gooch is responding to Buz Whelan's fine opinion piece about Bush's Tax Stimulus checks...you know, the government's answer to boost the faltering economy. This pearl of wisdom is so insightful I thought it deserved its own post...besides I'm huge fan of hers.

"Thank you Buz! Great insight. No, the average person will not pay off bills, but will go out with their "found money" and spend the entire return and then some, thus putting them in further debt. Credit is what has helped modern America live their "American Dream"; unaffordable house, leased luxury car in the driveway, and 2.2 kids, or whatever the average is today. Unfortunately, it has also ruined this country. Well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, so put your refund to good use!" -- Mrs. Gooch

I'm swamped...deal with it.

I've created quite a stir with my Irish comment. I don't dislike Irishmen...not at all. It's the sheep who get hammered with which I have a problem...in other words when they act like Irish people. Offended? The Irish can be made fun of too. Now get back in line and peel potatoes for Easter.

On the eve before college basketball tourney (I have Louisville winning it all), I'm completely swamped. So let me tease you with some upcoming morsels.....

Topics will include:

Baseball previews of the Mets, Yankees, and Red Sox.

Thoughts on losing at Fantasy baseball...Winning? I don't know how.

Why Bush should just shut up about Iraq....

Returing to the stand-up comedy arena (Much like Seinfeld, I will document my progress. Unlike Seinfeld, it will be painful.)

A St. Patrick's Day warning....

Should anyone ask me, "Where's your Green today?" is risking a punch in the face.

St. Patrick's Day is easily the worst of the tertiary holidays.
